FOUNDED IN 1949
LUIS MARTÍNEZ CLEMENTE(1920-2003)
Luis Martínez Clemente, an entrepreneur, decided to embark on the adventure of the cosmetic world founding ARUAL in 1949. In honour to his wife, Laura, he gave name to the mark, since Laura read backwards is ARUAL. Beside her, in a small laboratory in the Gracia neighbourhood of Barcelona, they began to develop and commercialise the first cosmetics brand.
Our insignia, the cream ARUAL was, like many other successes of the life, created by chance. He formulated a cream for the hands care as a gift to their clients for each order which they made. I.e., it launched it simply as a promotional product. In a few months the promotional product, became what today is still our insignia, and what makes us different from the rest of the competition.
Luis Martínez Clemente, leave at 2003 an indelible legacy in the world of cosmetics, as an emblem and icon of a great enthusiastic entrepreneur and above all a great person.
FIRST LABORATORYGRACIA (BARCELONA)
In its early days, the factory was located on Legalidad street in Barcelona. Today, the laboratory is installed in Sant Esteve Sesrovires; While the building of Legalidad street It’s considered nowadays patrimony of Barcelona by artistic and historical interest.
